The Department of Management Studies, TERI School of Advanced Studies, in collaboration with Climate Interactive, organised an interactive offline workshop titled “Is There Hope for Climate Action in a World on Fire?” on 12 October 2026 at the university campus in New Delhi.
The workshop was led by Prof. John D. Sterman, Jay W. Forrester Professor of Management at MIT Sloan School of Management and a leading authority on System Dynamics.
The session introduced participants to the En-ROADS Climate Simulator, an interactive policy simulation tool that enables users to examine the potential impacts of different climate interventions. Through scenario-based discussions and simulation exercises, participants explored how policy decisions concerning energy, transportation, land use, and other sectors influence global temperature trajectories, emissions, economic growth, air quality, and other climate-related outcomes.
The workshop emphasised the importance of systems thinking, interdisciplinary perspectives, and science-based policymaking in addressing climate change. It also highlighted the role of informed leadership and collaborative action in advancing effective climate solutions.
The programme provided participants with practical insights into the application of climate simulation tools for understanding complex sustainability challenges and evaluating pathways towards a low-carbon future.
