Programme Overview
The Department of Sustainable Engineering at TERI School of Advanced Studies (Deemed University) is committed to engage with learners, job seekers, early-career professionals and energy enthusiast to equip them with the knowledge, experience, and leadership capabilities to shape the future of renewable energy in Indian as well as global context.
Historically the energy transition is driven by technological innovation propelled by necessities and scarcities surrounding depleting of energy resources , energy crises, oil shocks and growing environmental concerns. Global renewable energy (RE) installations are experiencing unprecedented growth, with a record 741 GW added in 2024, driven primarily by solar PV, which accounts for over three-quarters of new capacity. Total global capacity is expected to more than double by 2030, with over 80% of countries seeing faster growth, despite challenges in grid integration and supply chains (REN 21).
This rapid acceleration reflects a simple, shared reality: renewable energy has started making economic sense across geographies, income levels, and energy needs. It will be poised to say that energy transition has entered a decisive decade of delivery across countries. The momentum of rapid growth of energy transition will depend critically on skilled, forward-looking professionals who can translate ambition into real-world impact.
The Department of Sustainable Engineering at TERI School of Advanced Studies (Deemed University) is offering online professional certificate programme with an objective to create next generation of renewable energy leaders from across the globe by imparting structured courses for a wholistic learning through multidisciplinary approach to provide an opportunity to shape the global renewable energy landscape. The programme is designed for undergraduate, postgraduate doctoral candidates and holders of diploma engineering who are motivated to learn and contribute towards policymaking, technological innovation, project management and institutional capacity building in the domains of renewable energy.
