TERI School of Advanced Studies celebrated the International Day of Yoga on June 22, 2026 with enthusiastic participation from faculty members, administrative staff, and other colleagues. The session included guided yoga practices and breathing exercises aimed at promoting physical well-being, mental wellness, and mindfulness. The celebration reinforced the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life as a means of fostering a healthy and balanced lifestyle within the university community.

TTERI SAS, in collaboration with the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), organized a one-day workshop titled - Energy Independence by 2047-Towards Viksit Bharat, on April 9, 2026. Senior industry experts shared insightful perspectives on oil, gas, power, critical minerals, wind, role of IPPs and OEMs, besides the evolving policy landscape. The distinguished set of panellists included Mr Dinesh Jagdale (President, Suzlon and Ex-JS, MNRE), Mr Ashok Kumar (Executive Director, ONGC), Mr Ajit Pandit, (Founder-CEO, IDAM Infra), Mr Kushagra Garg, Sr Manager, India Energy Exchange, Mr Rohin Bali (Sr Manager, Indian Gas Exchange), Mr Anupum Vadehra (Director, ENGIE Energy) and Mr Abhinav Jain (Project Director, GIZ). Over 40 students, pursuing different programmes at TERI SAS, had an opportunity to enhance their knowledge on varied dimensions of energy security. The workshop was conceptualized and executed by Dr Sapan Thapar.

The Expert Talk Series 2026 featured an insightful online session titled 'Unlocking GeoAI with ArcGIS' on 2nd April 2026, conducted from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The event was organized by the TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS), New Delhi, and was coordinated by Dr. Ayushi Vijhani, Assistant Professor and Programme Coordinator.
The session was delivered by Mr. Shivaprakash Yaragal, Manager, Esri India AI Competency Centre, who brought extensive industry expertise and practical insights into the rapidly evolving domain of Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI). The talk aimed to familiarize students and faculty with the integration of AI and machine learning techniques within the ArcGIS ecosystem for intelligent spatial analysis and decision-making.
During the session, Mr. Yaragal discussed the fundamentals of GeoAI, key capabilities of ArcGIS in handling large spatial datasets, and real-world applications such as urban planning, environmental monitoring, infrastructure management, and disaster risk reduction. He also highlighted emerging trends in AI - driven geospatial analytics and shared practical examples demonstrating how GeoAI solutions are being implemented across industries.
The session was conducted online from Venue C103, TERI School of Advanced Studies, with active participation from 30 students of MSc Geoinformatics. An interactive question-and-answer segment at the end of the talk allowed participants to engage directly with the speaker, clarify technical concepts, and gain a deeper understanding of career opportunities in the GeoAI domain. Overall, the expert talk was highly informative and well-received. It successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of GeoAI technologies and underscored the relevance of ArcGIS-based AI solutions in addressing contemporary real-world challenges. The event contributed meaningfully to academic enrichment and industry exposure for the TERI SAS community.
