ANNOUNCEMENTS
The issue of climate change that majorly occurs due to human activities requires professionals who are knowledgeable not only in the science of climate change but also policies that are required to mitigate it. The 1-Year MSc in Climate Science and Policy is an interdisciplinary programme offered through a rigorous, research-based curriculum developed to curate necessary knowledge in climate process, impact assessment, mitigation, and adaptation.
Over two specialized semesters, students get to know about the most important concepts in science, tools of analysis, and methods of assessing risks to climate and creating a response strategy. It also enhances the knowledge level of the national and international climate policies, legislation and regulatory frameworks through the program.
This fast-tracked MSc programme will equip graduates to act as researchers, policy makers, and sustainable planners in climate-related matters, making them capable of contributing to a solution to one of the most pressing problems in the world.
The 1-Year MSc in Climate Science and Policy graduates will have the opportunity to:
• Understand the basic scientific principles of climate change, its environmental, social, and economic consequences, as well as major policy arguments and models.
• Use scientific, analytical, and policy tools to identify and assess climate risks, evaluate mitigation and adaptation options, and support decision-making across sectors and governance levels.
• Effectively communicate with scientific, policy, and stakeholder communities on climate-related issues, including translating technical information into actionable insights.
• Develop practical methodologies and institutional responses to support evidence-based climate governance and practice.
• Identify context-specific adaptation and mitigation strategies based on scientific understanding and policy relevance.
• A Bachelor's degree to include (Open School and Correspondence Degree) in Science /Engineering / Architecture / Mathematics / Statistics / Data Science / Geology / Geography /Economics / Energy /Commerce / Management / Computer Science in relevant stream.
• The admission process will be based on CUET PG scores in relevant subjects or aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying degree, followed by interaction/counselling.
