An Institutional Seminar ‘Effects of poor sanitation on health in rural and informal settlements in urban India’ was organised on 18th November 2015 at TERI University campus. Ms Sangita Vyas, Managing Director, RICE Institute delivered the lecture to the students.
Ms. Sangita is broadly interested in the politics and economics of inequality and making services work in India. She is currently working in the sanitation sector, in India. Receiving a BS from the University of Pennsylvania, she grew up in Dallas, Texas.
After college, Ms Sangita spent several years working in New York in economic consulting but soon became discontent and moved to India where she oversaw a randomized evaluation of a micro insurance program for farmers in Gujarat with the Centre for Microfinance. She has recently delivered a TED talk on sanitation conditions in rural India.
Ms. Sangita holds an MPA in Economics and Public Policy with a Concentration in Urban Policy from Princeton University?s Woodrow Wilson School.
