The further encourage the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan launched by the government of India, TERI University and TERI in partnership with USAID and Coca-Cola Foundation inaugurated its first Summer School on Strengthening Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Urban Settings.
The event was held between August 3-7, 2015 on the theme 'Managing Risks and Challenges in Urban WASH Service Delivery'. While the interactive sessions and lectures, field visits did provide the students with active experiential learning, the case studies accounts of successes and failure did help the students learn about dos and don’ts for the effective campaign for sanitation and hygiene.
The five-day training programme did capture the participation from multiple stakeholders including the government officials, NGOs, academicians, corporate sector executives and students. The three municipal bodies- Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCDs), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) substantially contributed to the success of the event.
