The sixth webinar of M.A. (Public Policy and Sustainable Development) that took place on 29th May 2021 dealt with two important topics that directly impact the common men.
While the role of the public is seldom discussed in the closed-door conferences on climate change, contract farming especially from the preview of the recent Farm Acts, 2020 had drawn massive protests from the farmers.
The webinar presented an excellent opportunity to learn more about the multi-dimensional implications of these issues in the contemporary world politics.
Dr Manish Kumar Shrivastava, Assistant Professor, Department of Energy and Environment, TERI SAS and Mr Shyam Sundar Kandpal, Joint Director, Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Student, MA (PP&SD), TERI SAS spoke on ‘The 'Public' in the Policy Discourse on Climate Change’ and ‘Contract Farming New to India vis-à-vis Farm Laws 2020’ respectively.
