The leading Indian corporate Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. launched a Policy Case Competition titled ‘Mahindra Neeti Manthan’ at the Vasant Kunj campus of TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS). This competition is open for the students of TERI SAS and three other participating institutions. An MOU was also signed to formalize a partnership between Mahindra & Mahindra and TERI SAS in a wide set of activities including industry-oriented curriculum design, training, visits, internship and placement, R&D and skill development among others.
On this occasion, Mr. Manoj Chugh, President, Group Public Affairs, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “To ensure that India develops as a whole and not just in sections, academia, industry, and policymakers need to come together and make policy interventions to resolve issues which have not been resolved yet. By this exercise, ‘Mahindra Neeti Manthan’, Mahindra & Mahindra and TERI SAS are going to come up with recommendations that either intervene in the existing policies or come up with new ones to help India grow.”
Professor Manipadma Datta, Vice-Chancellor, TERI SAS, New Delhi also shared his views on this occasion and said, "The industry and academia are inseparable in most developed countries and their synergy ensures effective policies that induce collective growth. The absence of this synergy not only makes development ineffective but also fuels inequality, which thwarts the country’s attempt to grow as a united whole. Therefore, churning (manthan) by the academia and industry is a must."
