An equal world is an enabled world”- and if 50 % of the world’s population is not entitled to equal rights, the true potential of mankind humanity can’t be even fathomed, let alone harnessing it. Aligning with the global theme for International Women’s Day (March 8th)- “I am Generation Equality: Realising Women’s Rights”, on March 6th, TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS), New Delhi observed International Women’s Day to reiterate its commitment for equal opportunities and rights for women.
With a female to male student gender ratio of 58:42 respectively, TERI SAS celebrates equality, equity and gender sensitisation. These values form core of the institute with gender neutrality being the prime focus.
TERI SAS observed International Women’s Day with the theme- “Sajhedari Mein Khushhali”- celebrating and championing the need of a comprehensive and equal partnership between the genders to ensure a sense of equal entitlement which leads to collective empowerment.
The students, the faculty and the non-teaching staff, including the housekeeping staff and their spouses gathered and shared their views, opinions, observations and experiences over some light snacks and tea.
The interactive session did bring out some stories, a few more anecdotes and a lot of exchange of ideas about how we can make a difference in the lives of women living across the professions, races, religions, regions, customs, traditions and countries
