TERI School of Advanced Studies organized a session on ‘The Versatile Communicator: Connecting to the Public on Science and Policy ‘ on Wednesday, November 17,2021.
U.S. Fulbright-Nehru alumna, Ms Sheila Tefft, senior lecturer, Emory Writing Program, Department of English, Emory University, Atlanta was the key speaker for the event.
This session explored ways to broaden students’ vistas and reach out to the public and communities to increase understanding of science and policies. Complex issues in climate, health and other areas directly affecting the public and increasingly draw experts into discourse with citizens were also discussed. This discussion suggested ways to write, produce, and present using new media formats and connect to the public, particularly India’s young adults and youth, the key decision-makers of the digital age.
