On the 27th of October, S-Talks in collaboration with Project Baala organized an interactive session on menstrual health and hygiene with the female staff of TERI School of Advanced Studies.
An interactive session was held which not only discussed dos and don'ts of personal hygiene and debunked myths revolving around the subject but also advocated the adverse environmental impact of single-use pads. Proper disposal methods along with cleaner alternatives were also discussed. The women in turn shared their experiences.
At the end of the session, menstrual kits containing 3 cloth pads were distributed along with instructions for use and upkeep. While some scepticism persisted, their willingness to try and make the change, both for their health as well as to lessen environmental degradation was admirable.
