Onam is a traditional ten-day harvest festival celebrated in Kerala, India that marks the homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali. It is celebrated in the beginning of the month of Chingam, the first month of the Malayalam calendar. The 10-day long festival features rituals like buying new clothes, preparing delicious traditional cuisines, dance and music.
The students of TERI University celebrated Onam on campus on 01 September 2014. They were dressed in their traditional attire and one of them was dressed as King Mahabali. Dr. Rajiv Seth inaugurated the event and addressed the students. There was music, a swing and a beautiful floral rangoli also known as Onam Pookalam made by the students. In the end payasam (kheer) was distributed to all.
