TERI School of Advanced Studies (formerly known as TERI University) became a full member of the Himalayan University Consortium (HUC) Charter on Wednesday, 26 October 2016. The agreement was signed by Dr. Leena Srivastava, Vice Chancellor, TERI School of Advanced Studies (formerly known as TERI University) at the Charter signing ceremony. The Consortium comprises of members from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Switzerland and USA.

As part of the agreement, TERI School of Advanced Studies (formerly known as TERI University) will seek to strengthen its own research programmes as also establish closer collaboration with Universities of the Himalayan countries so as to facilitate sustainable mountain development.
