Dr. Saumya Arya is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences at TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi. She holds a PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, and the primary objective of her doctoral research was to provide a sustainable solution to urban floods by incorporating Green Infrastructure (GI). She constructed a framework that leverages the capabilities of the GIS environment (ArcGIS 10.8), stormwater modelling software (SWMM 5.2), and the methods of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA). This framework was instrumental in conducting flood hazard mapping and evaluating the feasibility of implementing GI in the identified study area. She received her MTech degree in environmental science and technology from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur.
