India's urbanization has put a great stress on the water and sanitation utilities and there is a huge challenge in front of working professionals within the sector for completing the targets put forward by the Government of India under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM). The WASH summer school is an initiative to strengthen the capacities among senior and mid-level officials from Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Infrastructure related departments like public works and public health and planning and other stakeholders who are involved in Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). The third summer school is being organized by TERI University with the support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Coca Cola Foundation and the theme for this year is ?Effective and Efficient Urban Water and Wastewater Management for Sustainable Cities.
This summer school involves exposure to cases which are termed as good practices in urban water supply and sanitation, policy orientation, sessions on RS/GIS based planning tools and techniques for water supply, and sanitation mapping. The talks would be delivered by experts and practitioners in the field.
