NEW DELHI: The TERI School of Advanced Studies (earlier known as TERI University) and senior citizens of Vasant Kunj B Block on Saturday organised an environmental carnival to raise awareness about problems caused by pollution.
The aim of the programme was to engage senior citizens through RWAs to sensitise and educate the masses, especially the youth, on environmental issues of concerns and preventive measures which can be taken by residents, said Suresh Jain from the department of energy and environment, TERI SAS.
The event, which went on till 6pm, saw a performance by senior citizens and students on environment protection, contests like pin the bin, eco hunt, green quiz, drawing competition, among others, and interactive plays. The students made us aware about problems of air and water pollution. Residents have to be involved if any change has to be made, said 85-year-old Janak Taneja, president of the Senior Citizens Welfare Association, Vasant Kunj.
