• Students currently in MSc III semester of ESRM, CSP, BT, WSG, Economics and Geoinformatics are eligible to apply for the Hemendra Kothari Fellowship.

Following shall be the criteria for selection of the proposals.

• Clarity in aim and objectives, proposal quality and feasibility of implementation.
• A proposal that addresses an emergent issue in the aforementioned areas of work and opens up future scope of research at the University
• Clear articulation of tangible and verifiable output/outcomes
• The proposal does not exceed the budgetary limit of Rs 60,000 and provides justification of the expenditure against the budget heads.

Submission of proposals:
Eligible students of Msc III semester shall submit a proposal in Microsoft Word in the format suggested in the Annexure along with a covering letter expressing interest in the proposed area of work and forwarded through a faculty at TERI SAS who has agreed to be the supervisor and mentor to the applicant. Communication on selected proposals
Communication will be sent only to the successful proponents who will make a presentation to the Fellowship Committee/ respond to clarification, queries or suggestions. Students will resubmit the revised proposal after incorporating the comments/ suggestions (if any) received after the evaluation process.

Important Deadlines for submission and implementation:
5th February 2024  - Submission of the proposal
7th February 2024  - Interaction with applicants
9th February 2024  - Communication to the winning applicants
26th February 2024  - Release of the first installment (30%) of the scholarship to the grantee
2nd April,2024  - Submission of the first interim report to the scholarship committee
16th April 2024  - Release of the second installment (30%) to the grantee
12th June 2024  - Submission of the Final Report to Scholarship Committee
19th June 2024 - Presentation by the grantee
Final installment (40%) of the scholarship will be released only after final presentation and successful completion of the project.
 

Disbursement of the Fellowship :
The grant approved by the fellowship committee will be released to the winning proposals in three installments:

• First installment: 30% of the approved grant will be released on signing of the letter of acceptance and the terms and conditions by the student
• Second installment: 30% of the project budget after two months of submission of an interim report to the satisfaction of the fellowship committee duly forwarded by the supervisor
• 40 % of the balance fellowship after submission of the final report and its acceptance by the fellowship committee

Submission of Annual Report to Committee:

The final report submitted by the students will be compiled and an annual report will be submitted to the Hemendra Kothari Foundation. The Awardees will make a presentation at a Seminar Organized by the Fellowship Committee.
