Prof. D.K.Sharma did his Ph.D from University of Delhi in 1977. He has served at the Centre for Energy Studies, IIT Delhi for more than 41 years and retired first as a Professor in the higher academic grade and later as an Emeritus professor. Presently he is a Visiting Professor at the Department of Sustainable Engineering, TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi and Visiting Faculty at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, New Delhi. He is a Member of Accreditation Committee, Environment Impact Assessment, NABET, Quality Council of India, New Delhi, Member, of Environment Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Member, Power, Renewable & Alternate Energy Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, New Delhi etc. He has published more than 225 research papers in different international and national journals ( Citations of more than 5300, i10 index = 113 and h-index= 39). He has guided more than 29 Ph.Ds and more than 130 M.Tech projects. He had visited Germany firstly as an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation fellow and later Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems and Fraunhofer Institute of Factory Operations and Automation, Magdeburg, Germany and then later also at the Deutsches Biomasseforschungszentrum i.e., German Biomass Research Centre, Leipzig, Germany. He had also visited USA as a Visiting Faculty and Fulbright Scholar. He has transferred technologies to industries and filed several patents. His name featured in the Top 2 % scientists in the World by the Experts of Stanford University, USA. He is also a member of Editorial Board of a number of journals.
