Dr Atul Kumar is a Scientist B in the IPCA Centre for Waste Management & Research at TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi. He is also associated as Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences, TERI SAS. He worked as a postdoctoral research scientist for sustainability assessment of Agri-food system at Rothamsted Research, United Kingdom. His research work is mainly focussed on the application of life cycle sustainability assessment for various products and processes. He possesses good command of SimaPro, one of the most widely used LCA software for environmental impacts analysis. He did his PhD and master’s in Environmental Science and Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. He has a dual engineering degree in Mechanical and Civil. He also did a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law and Policy from NLU, Delhi. He extensively worked on sustainable management of municipal solid waste using waste to energy technologies. He worked in the development of problem-solving techniques of various solid waste related problems such as municipal solid waste, e-waste, plastic waste, biomedical and hazardous wastes. He developed some empirical, statistical and machine learning models to solve waste related problems. Dr. Atul executed a MoEFCC funded project for hazardous waste inventorization and environmental auditing of various hazardous wastes generating industries. He has published various research and review articles in peer reviewed international journals with high impact factor. He has presented his research work at various international and national conferences.
