Dr G R Narsimha Rao is Director, Industrial Energy Efficiency division & TERI Southern Regional Centre in Bengaluru.
He has more than 28 years of professional experience in international, multi-disciplinary and multilingual environments in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North and South America. His professional experience includes energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainability, low carbon development strategies, particularly for developing countries, and related work undertaken for commercial, governmental and not-for-profit organisations in areas including business development, project development, project and programme management, socio-economic analysis and resource assessment.
He shared his expertise in the energy sector with a large number of corporates, mainly conducting performance evaluation studies, project appraisals -Greenfield Projects, Developing Baselines and Monitoring Methods for ESCO projects, and Market Research studies (Oil & Gas Sectors). He developed methodologies and working models with Government Energy departments and Public sector industries, raising funds for implementing Renewable Energy Projects.
He has co-authored two books and published eight energy audit manuals for the Industrial sector. He presented several papers at national and international conferences.
He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has done his Masters's and Doctorate in Energy Systems from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. He has acquired a post-graduate in environmental management from Central University, Hyderabad. He is heading the list of accredited energy auditors published by BEE, Ministry of Power, India. He is specially trained in thermal power plant simulation software applications in Germany and has two patents to his credit.
