Dr Sapan Thapar is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sustainable Engineering, TERI School of Advanced Studies. He completed his doctoral research as well as Masters, both in the field of energy, from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Dr Thapar, a certified Energy Manager, has over two-decade long experience in the energy sector. At TERI SAS, he has been teaching subjects related to energy policy, energy economics, energy efficiency, renewable project management and carbon markets. Dr Thapar has a number of research publications to his credit, including a textbook titled ‘Renewable Energy: Policies, Project Management and Economics’. In the past, he has been associated with IREDA (a government of India owned developmental financial institution), The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI) and Tata Consultancy Services (Energy Division).
