Eligibility Criteria:
i. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
ii. National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission.
Desirable Qualification: Post-doctoral experience is desirable. Candidate’s with research in frontier domains of environmental and resource economics, ecological economics, economics of climate change etc. Ability to attract national and international research funding.
• Work with colleagues to deliver an exceptional learning environment for students.
• Teach and inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students and to conduct assessments.
• Provide academic support and advice to undergraduate and postgraduate students on relevant modules.
• Promote the use of a range of effective methods and techniques in teaching, learning and assessment.
Pay Scale

Area/Position Descriptions: Candidates with a PhD in Geoinformatics, with specialization towards Lidar and Radar remote sensing, Drone data applications, AI/ML and big data analysis for spatial patterns.

Demonstrate ability to attract national and international research funding and develop international collaborations. The candidate should be able to design and teach courses into frontier/upcoming domains of geoinformatics and deliver existing courses in the Department.

Project Title: Mobile Substation and Grid Storage System (MOBISUB)
Funding agency: DST, GoI
Project summary: MOBISUB is researching, designing, developing, testing and piloting a dual function mobile substation maintenance system which can also be deployed as a modular, grid-scale storage asset. The project will develop and pilot a containerized solution, based on cutting edge battery technology (including research into both flow and solid state options) along with hardware, software and test protocols to test the dual function system in situ in India.
The project aims to show the potential of the system to support a dual use business case at scale in the Indian market. The dual use case mitigates the weak business case in the Indian market for a grid scale storage. Developing these assets as part of a substation maintenance strategy however both meets this immediate need and creates a scalable storage platform for a smarter more flexible grid which can help meet the need for storage and flexibility as renewable assets increase and India moves toward electric vehicles over the next decade.

Essential Qualification: PhD or equivalent degree or M.E/M.Tech having 3 years of experience in research, teaching and/or design & development after M.VSc/M.E/M.Tech with at least one research paper in SCI/SCOPUS/UGC-CARE indexed/listed journals. (as per DST norms)
Desirable: Knowledge/experience of working on mobile substation, battery storage, power electronic converters, grid operations, grid stability and modelling & simulation in these areas. Candidates are advised to go through the project summary to understand the skills required.
Monthly emolument: Rs. 47,000/- + 24%HRA per month(as per the sanctioned order)
Duration of the Position: Appointment shall be made initially for 1-year which may be extended up to the end of the project depending upon performance and project requirements.

- Willing to be stationed at Delhi
- Willing to travel across India as and when required
