A study on the impact of urbanization on critical environmental and infrastructural issues of Gurgaon

Abstract: Due to its unplanned development and hyper growth the Gurgaon city has seen many side effects on its
environment and social Infrastructure, like the depletion of ground water, increasing air pollution, lack of
proper solid waste disposal and sewer system . The local government of Gurgaon has been unable to adequately
provide power, water and sanitation to its residents. The DLF Ltd has had a large stake in developing this city
and DLF Foundation has initiated a project called as Gurgaon Renewal Mission. DLF foundation has
committed infrastructural support to the mission along with launching a series of social initiatives to contribute
to the development of the city. This study work has been made as a contribution to the ongoing efforts of
creating a road map for Gurgaon Renewal Mission under the task force of environmental sustainability
.
