Abstract: With the advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), communication gap have been decreased rapidly and transfer of information have become faster. Almost in every sector latest technologies like Mobile Phones and wireless Internet are increasingly used and can benefit Health Service management to large extent. In developing countries current public Health Information System are lacking real-time data capturing, visualization, analyzing and proper decision making. So with the use of Mobile Devices ,it will be possible to visualize and update the Health information timely and accurately because the unique feature of Mobile GIS is to incorporate both Global Positioning System and ground truth measurement and also it will replace long and complicated paper based survey procedures, making information management more efficient, quick and impeccable. In support to that, Internet GIS will help in disseminating geospatial data easily and allows visual interaction with data.

In this project, an application is designed for Healthcare Service Management System using Open Source Internet GIS. Open Data kit is open source software kit which is freely available online, used to prepare electronic forms that are uploaded to Android phone for data collection and then completed forms are sent to the server. ODK Server is directly linked to database server PostgreSQL/PostGIS, where data is managed and organized. Geoserver which is an online server, publish PostGIS data as a service. Geoserver Layers containing Sub-Centres as point feature, along with their associated information, are displayed on maps as Web Map Service using Openlayers. Further spatial analysis can be done online. Also a Mobile Interface is designed to view SubCentres and information on mobile based platform. Thus, designing of such Internet based application will be beneficial to decision makers as well as general public to make optimal decision in any situation without requiring GIS software at their end.
