Abstract: Garg Casteels Pvt. Ltd. (GCL) has installed two biomass gasifiers and the producer gas generated is fed into the DG sets. Biomass being used as fuel is Babool wood. The combined capacity of the gasifiers ~ 2.2 MWe. Project falls under TYPE I: Renewable Energy Projects & Category ID: “Grid connected renewable electricity generation”. Methodology followed in the PDD is approved small scale methodology AMS I-D “Grid connected renewable electricity generation”. Project opts for fixed 10 years crediting period, emission reductions estimated is 76030 for the 10 years crediting period. The baseline is power production using Furnace oil (GCL has been generating power through FO before switching to Biomass gasifiers).

M/S Sunil sponge Pvt Ltd (SSPL) located at Raipur in Chattisgarh are engaged in 2 x 100 TPD sponge iron production facility. SSPL is proposing to install a 4 MW (CPP) for electricity generation by utilizing heat of waste gases exuding from the two sponge iron kiln thereby replacing the electricity drawl from grid in the baseline scenario. The electricity generated would be used at the plant itself. Two 10 TPH WHRB boilers would be installed and the steam generated would be fed into the turbine. The approved methodology followed is ACM0004 / Version 02 “Consolidated baseline methodology for waste gas and/or heat and/or pressure for power generation”. Total of 176030 tco2 is expected to be reduced during 10 years of crediting period. The baseline for the project activity is the power drawl from the grid.
