Abstract: Optimum Flow of power in an integrated power system is important commercially for effective utilization of resources as well for the security of the system. Traditionally active energy is only considered as the commercially viable product and the ancillary services required for ensuring smooth flow of power through the system is not treated commercially at par. Where as it incurs a definite cost to all stake holders. This naturally leads to inefficient means for supplying / obtaining of such ancillary services.

The proposed project attempts to analyze the issue objectively and develop a tool for observing the cost behavior of obtaining ancillary services along with energy with the help of General Algebraic Modeling Software (GAMS). The proposed model is operated with data of IEEE 6 bus system.
