Abstract: This study tries to understand through a case study whether knowledge management is able to
mainstream climate change adaptation into the policy process. From a survey of literature it has
been found that there are two approaches to manage knowledge, which have been implemented by
the Adaptation Knowledge Platform. The comparison of frameworks has found that the Adaptation
Knowledge Platform follows the approach followed by the UNDP and has incorporated different
schools of knowledge management appropriate to its activities. The response to the survey has
indicated the importance of knowledge management in the policy process. It has thrown light on how
climate change adaptation issues are mainstreamed into the policy process through knowledge
management. The case study has found that the Adaptation Knowledge Platform is doing
commendable work on policy process by managing knowledge on climate change adaptation.
