The aviation sector is at a critical juncture where growth, operational readiness, and sustainability must converge. This study explores the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) considerations into airport operations, using Noida International Airport as a focal point. The research adopts a dual-phase approach: conducting a stakeholder-informed materiality assessment to prioritize ESG topics, and benchmarking sustainability performance across peer airports globally. Findings underscore climate action, energy efficiency, sustainable construction, and waste management as top priorities, informed by both stakeholder expectations and internal strategic alignment. The study further develops a comprehensive ESG roadmap that addresses climate neutrality, water stewardship, waste circularity, social inclusion, and governance. This roadmap offers actionable insights for embedding sustainability into core airport functions from the ground up, supporting long-term value creation and regulatory compliance. The project also contributes to filling the research gap in ESG integration frameworks for greenfield airports in India.
