Abstract:

The rising demand for sustainable packaging has propelled the shift from plastic to paper in the quick commerce (Q-commerce) sector. Blinkit, a Zomato-owned Q-commerce brand, has replaced plastic with recycled paper bags across its supply chain. This thesis evaluates the environmental impact and credibility of Blinkit's green claims, based on internal data, scientific benchmarks, and primary research via a survey of 182 stakeholders. It identifies critical gaps in regulation, consumer understanding, and proof mechanisms, and recommends the development of verifiable, future-proof sustainability frameworks. The findings are positioned within the broader context of global regulatory trends like the EU Green Claims Directive and ISO 14021.
