Abstract:

Water is essential for human survival but its quality and availability are of equal significance. UN sustainable goal (2030) towards providing safe drinking water and good health, is one of the most challenging goal to achieve. Because, when it comes to access to clean drinking water, the statistics are stark. Around 783 million people around the world still lack access to clean water and are vulnerable to water borne diseases, including diarrhoea, the leading cause of illness and death.(WHO report,2011). It is most challenging for the developing countries to provide safe drinking water, when industrialization is speeding up, and water being the primary source for all alng with the lack of infrastructure for safe drinking water supply resulting in lokoking for Point of Use (POU) for the household water treatment sustem which are easy to adopt-most common method is filteration.In this study we try to check the working efficiency of biosand filter working efficiency for different parameters asscoiated with study site in order to make its adoption easy among the households and to also provide the sustainable livehood opportunities for the women’s.
