Abstract:

The importance of forests in maintaining ecological balance and supporting biodiversity is well-recognized. Companies have been seen to witness impacts of forest-related issues and contribute to the same. Through preliminary research, peer review, and gap analysis key areas for improvement in the host company's forest-related activities. Scoring was simplified and reporting under CDP Forest, conducted a peer review to understand best practices, and drafted a comprehensive response. Our findings highlight the need for robust traceability systems, improved governance, and strategic integration of forest issues into business plans. Recommendations include adopting a farmer management system, implementing supplier due diligence, and developing a Green Bond Framework to finance sustainable forest management initiatives.
