The "Green Dealership with TVSM" project aims to make TVS Motors' dealership operations more sustainable by installing solar panels. This initiative seeks to improve how environmentally responsible they are and how efficiently they operate, while also reducing energy costs for both the company and its dealerships.
The project began by looking at how much energy the dealerships currently use and checking if their rooftops are suitable for installing solar panels. After that, they focused on getting dealers involved and making sure they understood and actively took part. There were challenges in getting accurate data and finding the right companies to work with, so they kept refining their methods. They ended up using strategies that save money and are best suited to states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, which have good policies for using solar energy.
One of the main successes was getting dealers more involved through personal meetings, which helped make sure the information collected was accurate and built trust. Comparing different companies' proposals showed where they could save money and make things run more smoothly, proving that the project could work well and could be used more widely.
From the first tryout in Karnataka, they found that dealers reacted well and gave them ideas for how to do more in the future. The project shows how using energy in a more sustainable way can make a company look better, follow environmental laws, and make more money over time. Suggestions for what to do next include doing more projects that use solar energy and telling more people in the dealership business how they can be more sustainable.
