Assam's tea industry, a vital component of the region's socio-economic fabric, is currently grappling with severe challenges brought on by climate change. Recent climatic variations, including rising temperatures, erratic rainfall patterns, and increased pest and disease prevalence, are significantly affecting tea yields as well as quality. This study investigated the multifaceted impact of climate change on tea yields in Assam, integrating quantitative data on climate and yield fluctuations with qualitative insights from plantation managers and industry experts. The findings revealed that climatic changes are undermining the financial stability of tea plantations, impeding their ability to implement necessary adaptive measures and threatening the livelihoods of millions. The research underscored the urgency for robust adaptation strategies and increased financial support from the government to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change. By adopting innovative practices and fostering collaboration among stakeholders, it is possible to safeguard Assam's tea industry and ensure its sustainability in the face of climate uncertainties. This study emphasized the need for immediate action to secure the future of tea cultivation in Assam.
