Investigating the impact of awareness regarding green skills and green jobs on their implementation, this study attempts to explore and uncover the relationship between awareness and the implementation of green skills and green job policies in Indian landscape. With the worsening climate situation, there has been notable progress through international discussions on climate change and global warming accepting and acknowledging that it is a crisis that goes beyond political borders. Hiked urgency and concern regarding economic and social impacts of degradation of environment and climate change resulted in global agreements on sustainable development. Nonetheless, the political response at national level has not consistently reflected this global agenda. In many countries, there has been a considerable lag in translating public policy into action, and some policies have even regressed. While existing studies underscores the importance of green skills for climate change mitigation, a significant implementation gap remains. This said gap is observed due to persistent imbalance of demand for and supply of green skills, even though a number of policies and initiatives have been introduced at government level. Understanding the awareness and engagement of these stakeholders is crucial for bridging the implementation gap and ensuring that green policies translate into effective action. Without sufficient awareness, the transition to a green economy may be hindered, as the necessary skills and knowledge may not reach those who need them most. This study aims to determine whether awareness of green skills and green jobs impacts their implementation.
