Abstract:

Ecotourism has become more popular as a strategy to promote sustainable development and protect natural ecosystems and wildlife. This study focuses on Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve with the goal of understanding the interactions between ecotourism practices and attitudes in the context of sustainable development.

This research employs a broad approach that includes conducting interviews with stakeholders and making firsthand observations. The aim is to clearly understand the various perspectives and actions that influence ecotourism in Bandhavgarh of different stakeholders, such as Forest Officials, the hospitality industry, Travel Associations, naturalists and guides.

The results emphasise the importance of ecotourism in promoting community empowerment and wildlife protection in Bandhavgarh. This is especially relevant given India's economic path and the region's rich mineral resources. The report acknowledges several great initiatives that promote responsible tourism, but it also underlines a few harmful risk that require attention.

This research provides significant insights for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers that aim to promote sustainable ecotourism programmes in similar environments. It sheds light on the complex relationship between economic development, environmental conservation, and social welfare. It also provides a guiding framework for promoting harmonious interactions between humans and nature, while also supporting local livelihoods and protecting natural heritage.
