Abstract:

Urbanization is a pressing global issue, with significant implications for environmental sustainability, public health, and economic development. Understanding the dynamics of urban growth and the associated heat island effects is crucial for effective urban planning and management. This study leverages multi temporal satellite data to analyze urban growth and heat patterns in a metropolitan area, providing valuable insights into the spatio-temporal relationships between urbanization and heat island effects. This study aims to analyse and detect urban growth in the city of Hyderabad using Shannon Entropy (Multiple Ring Buffer Analysis). Also, the study of urban heat island effect is done to understand the temperature patterns over the temporal period of 1993 to 2023.
