Abstract:

Post-COVID parosmia is a condition characterized by distorted or altered sense of smell experienced by individuals after recovering from a COVID-19 infection. This research study aims to investigate the impact of post-COVID parosmia on the quality of life of affected individuals using a mixed-methods approach. The study employs a sample survey to gather quantitative data on symptoms, duration, and the daily life implications of post-COVID parosmia. A survey questionnaire, developed specifically for this research, is administered to individuals who have experienced post-COVID parosmia. The data collected is analyzed using appropriate methods to determine the impact of Parosmia on individuals’ daily lives. In addition, secondary data in the form of existing literature, medical records, and case reports on post-COVID parosmia are collected and subjected to qualitative analysis. Thematic analysis is conducted to identify recurring themes related to the impact of post-COVID parosmia on quality of life. This qualitative analysis provides insights into the emotional well-being of affected individuals and the coping strategies employed. By integrating the findings from both the quantitative survey analysis and qualitative analysis of secondary data, a comprehensive understanding of post-COVID parosmia and its impact on quality of life is achieved. The study aims to shed light on the common symptoms, duration, emotional implications, and coping strategies associated with this condition. The research findings will have implications for healthcare professionals in understanding and addressing the needs of individuals affected by post-COVID parosmia. Furthermore, the study aims to contribute to the existing literature on post-COVID parosmia and guide future research efforts in this area. Ultimately, the research seeks to improve the overall understanding and management of post-COVID parosmia, thereby enhancing the quality of life of those affected by this condition.
