Abstract:

There are some industries across nations that have occupational risks associated with them. Many skilled and unskilled workers are involved in such occupations, despite knowing the possibility of certain occupational risks and hazards. The question now arises if these workers are compensated for the risk, they face. This research is based on Firozabad city, India's glass manufacturing hub. T A primary survey of 217 workers was carried out in the glass manufacturing hub in Firozabad city of Uttar Pradesh. Questions were framed, considering revealed preference approach.

To assess the wage compensation of workers in glass industry, this research will use the Value of Statistical Life technique to assess the workers' willingness to pay to mitigate the risk they face. Furthermore, the hedonic wage study will result in a hedonic wage model, in which workers' earnings are depicted as a function of numerous socio-economic and risk factors.

Keywords: Glass Manufacturing, Occupational Health Hazards, Compensating Wage Differential (CWD), Willingness to Pay (WTP), VSL, VSI.
