Abstract:

Plants require nutrients and minerals for their growth and development. During extreme environmental stress conditions such as drought, high salinity and lack of availability of nutrients affect overall plant development. Plants being sessile organisms have developed physiological and molecular mechanisms to cope up the stress. This includes differential expression of various transcription factors which provide tolerance mechanisms. Out of many, WRKY54 and NAC074 are the transcription factors which are widely explored in different abiotic and biotic stresses. Here, in the present study, the aim is to clone these genes via the Gateway cloning method and to understand their role in regulating nitrogen balance and salt stress conditions.
