Abstract:

Natural conservation zones are found in the tropical forests of developing areas, and they are essential to preserving the ecological balance. The rate of forest cover loss in some locations is concerning despite the fact that it is of the utmost importance. The recent decline in forest cover has been attributed to a number of factors, including wildfires, rapid economic development, agriculture, logging, and expanding human population. Forest fires may begin spontaneously (for example, from lightning) or they may be caused by human activity. The spatial and temporal data required for fast and accurate information on complex fire models can be provided through geospatial technology. The integration of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) in the spatial world also gives a novel framework for assessing forest fire risk areas. The AHP method is one of the most used MCDMs. AHP and GIS methods have been utilized to identify the forsest fire risk areas successfully in various regions of the world. The Forest Fire risk map has been generated for the District of Gadchiroli.
