Abstract:

MSWM (Municipal Solid Waste Management) is one of India's most difficult and neglected issues. Municipal solid waste (MSW) management that isn't done properly puts residents in danger. Furthermore, rapid population growth and industrialisation pressure fundamental infrastructure and municipal services. Because Delhi is a commercial centre, it gives employment opportunities, resulting in a faster rate of urbanisation and a commensurate increase in MSW. The purpose of this study is to give a detailed review of the characteristics, generation, collection and transportation, disposal, and treatment technologies used in New Delhi Municipal Council for MSW. The purpose of the MSWM research for NDMC is to assess the current situation and identify the significant issues. The report concludes with a few useful ideas that may be useful in encouraging competent authorities to continue working on improving the current system.
