Abstract:

Background – As a result of the widespread spread of the COVID-19 virus and the rapid acceleration of climate change, one of the most significant worries regarding the environment, society, and regulations has emerged. Because of this, customers, investors, governmental organisations, and financial markets are paying a greater amount of attention to environmental and social aspects than they were previously . Has led to the quick integration of ESG into the company's value chain, which will enable the company achieve growth while simultaneously giving back to society and the environment. In addition, to strengthen regulatory intervention for corporations to provide ESG information. SEBI issued a directive requiring listed firms to report on ESG factors – Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting ( BRSR).

Purpose- The aim of this research paper is to incorporate ESG in the value chain of the organization and also to understand the readiness of the organization for adopting ESG. The paper consists of two main important thing – 
1. To define the ESG Materiality matrix of the organization that will help in understanding the present stage of the organization in terms of ESG parameter which involves participation from various business function ( Finance, HR, Marketing , operations).
2. To understand the structuring of BRSR Reporting which is a SEBI- BRSR mandate and asses the readiness of the organization in terms of data availability for BRSR.

Methodology/Approach –
For objective 1 – To define the ESG Materiality Matrix both primary and secondary research is conducted, Primary research is done by doing Stakeholder Interviews, Data from various departments . Secondary research involved web search for Peer benchmarking , ESG Standards.
For Objective 2 – For developing the BRSR Baseline involved both primary and Secondary research was done – Primary research involved , circulating the survey questionnaire and collecting data from various departments. Secondary research involved referring BRSR annexure for 140 parameters.
