Abstract:

Over the past few years, hydrogen has been recognized as a suitable substitute for present vehicular fuels. The study covers the analysis of Hydrogen production using electricity generated at Offshore Wind farm in India for the Western coast of Gujarat. The study aims to outline and covers the literature review of Technologies involved in Hydrogen production, and current trends or pilot projects that are happening in India. Also, a model has been designed for Hydrogen production unit using electricity from Offshore Wind Turbine, in HOMER. The modeling covers the overall Levelized cost of the Electricity, Net Present value of the setup, the Operating Cost, and the Levelized Cost of Hydrogen. Manual calculation of Levelized Cost of Hydrogen has also been done to verify the result of HOMER. The analysis covers the system components, including hydrogen storage, the system configuration, and the potential uses of hydrogen, e.g., Power to Mobility, Power to Power, and Power to Gas.
