Abstract:

The study spans across understanding, levels of awareness, effective communication and implementation of Social Compliance Standards and how ‘Sustainable’ the practices are across the Apparel Manufacturing Industry in Northern India. The research is conducted through the process of Social Compliance Assessment in 30 manufacturing units across 8 North Indian states. The assessment of the 4 Management Functions overlooking a set of 9 Employment Relations was carried out to analyse level of sustainability of the adopted social compliance standards in the factories.
