Energy minerals sector is under increasing pressure to demonstrate portfolio resilience through disclosing relevant risk-related information and modify their corporate strategies to comply with the transition to a low-carbon energy future. Following the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), companies have now been provided with the resource to respond to the increased investor scrutiny. The sector stands to confront a new type of climate risk reporting. This study thus examines the current position of the companies in energy minerals sector to understand how aligned they are with the TCFD recommendations in terms of assessing and understanding risks associated with climate change, preparing strategies to address those risks, as well as in disclosing crucial metrics like scope emissions that help inform investors’ decision-making.
