Wetlands are full of economic values as well as its host a vibrant ecological diversity. Kawar lake is also a such type of wetland which has international recognition as Ramsar site. However, it is facing some serious anthropogenic pressures including trapping and hunting of birds and eutrophication of water due to agricultural run-off. Apart from it, this wetland faces ignorance of local people as well as government institutions. Study uses thematic analysis -qualitative tool - to analyze the data collected in focused group interviews. Study found that problem of these anthropogenic pressures can be solved by igniting sense of ownness toward this wetland which will come when this wetland would start generating some more visible values and also getting some additional livelihoods. Study explores the opportunity to conserve this wetland by engaging local people in its conservation process using collective action instrument.
