Abstract:

Disability is an inescapable aspect of being human. People with disabilities encounter many difficulties in their day-to-day lives. Disability is multifaceted, dynamic, complicated, and dynamic. Having an objective description given by a physician is one way of defining impairment. Disability is a diverse category of impairments which include, but are not limited to, various physical, visual, hearing, speech, and mental conditions. In public settings, people with various abilities confront many barriers, and banks are one of these institutions. Lack of adequate infrastructure facilities for differently-abled person leads to numerous difficulties in day-to-day living. There is a failure to comprehend their specific requirements. When it comes to a regular existence, those with disabilities have numerous difficulties.

The present study is an attempt to explore the present status of facilities available for differently abled persons in Lucknow, in terms of Specific Infrastructure and Support available. Study also aims to explore different places like- schools, Hospitals, Public Toilets, Cinema Halls, Markets, Bus, Railway stations and airports etc. It is explored that Lucknow is emerging as one of the cities that is considerable equipped with infrastructure facilities for differently abled people. Hospitals and shopping malls are found to be most equipped with such facilities where as Markets and shops are the areas where such facilities are comparatively less effective and improvement is required.
