ANNOUNCEMENTS
The study looks into the aspect of food security in India with special reference to the Existing Public Distribution Network. Tracing the historic development of the Setup of the network from procurement of the food grains from the farmers till the delivery of the same to the beneficiaries. alongside the data related to functioning of the PDS network was also discussed, though the study was intended to focus on the legislative framework but without putting the statistics we may not be clearly understanding the issue and the needed steps.
The relevant legislations were discussed keeping in mind the utility of relevant sections. The provisions of the state wise APMC acts and TPDS control orders were not discussed as that will become a lengthy process. However, the alternatives to the existing PDS models were analyzed along with the potential impacts of the much debated three farm laws enacted in the year of 2020.
