Thinkthrough Consulting Private Limited assured a project conducted by “Sustainable castor Initiative” to provide farmers in Gujarat with certification on “SuCCESS code”. Which is a set of regulations defined by this initiative to categorize a farmer as sustainable castor producer. This project was broadly divided into three phases. The first phase consisted of “desk review” of various initiatives taken by “PRAGATI”. The second phase consisted of designing a “Study plan” to assess the impact generated by “PRAGATI” project. The process of study plan consolidates three subcategories, household survey, focused group discussion/ market survey and in-depth interviews. This step also envelops the sampling plan to capture the differences between castor farmers part of “PRAGATI” initiative and castor farmers not part of initiative. Data collection templates were created to capture the various impacts generated by this initiative. Tools were designed using the “Log frame analysis” method, which is a quasi-experimental in design. The third step involved evaluating the survey data to generate the study's results and findings.
The assurance process entailed the gathering of evidence pertaining to several goals and indicators listed under the “Castor – Code”, which is also called the “SuCCESS code”.
