Abstract:

The purpose of this report is to identify the possibilities and solutions for sustainable waste management practices in Indian cities. The goal is to make an action plan to start for a sustainable development in the waste sector, with the help of citizen participation. There are specific research question to find request and ideas from the community members. Also how the Indian waste management system is built up in order to find out potential good examples. Qualitative methods used for data collection through questionaries’ with the help of online Google form survey. Data collection done with the help of mail, Whatapp. There were 16 questions related to waste management practices in the Google form. There were also discussion with ULBs accessor resulted in many request and ideas regarding waste management practices in brief a legal dumpsite,scientific landfill, and processing plant of the advantages of managing waste and the disadvantageif not increase public garbage twin bin and storage bin, increase number of people employed for waste collection in ULBs an organized plan for trading of waste and to improve the future plan ofthe ULBs by the local authorities. In conclusion a sustainable development within waste sector isto be initiated local authorities need to take action and responsibilities. There is need to be collaboration between them and public office, community, private stakeholders, NGOs is essential.
